School Development Plan

We have recently completed the School Development Plan (SDP) and identified our priorities for the coming year.

 

Target

Outcomes for pupils

1.1

Improve rates of progress across the whole school, including in English and mathematics

1.2

5+EM to meet target of between  42% and 47%

1.3

Improve accuracy of prediction and reduce in school variation, so all departments have a residual of 0

1.4

Successfully implement the use of Learning journeys and assessment mark sheets into Years 7- 9 to ensure that all stakeholders fully understand the learning process, so they make rapid gains

1.5

The attainment and progress of disadvantaged pupils to be at least matched or are rapidly approaching those of other pupils nationally and in the school

1.6

To ensure that effective and appropriate intervention(s) are implemented for students who arrive not secondary ready or are making below expected progress

Personal development,  behaviour and welfare

Improve attendance to 95% across the school ensuring effective strategies are used to improve the punctuality of student

To raise the profile of  rewards across the school implementing a system that is understood by all stakeholders

Reduce the number of Fixed Term Exclusions through targeted support of students

Ensure the school’s arrangements for safeguarding students including on line safety are exemplary

Improve the emotional health and well-being of all students

Increase the opportunities and develop a structured plan of school trips  and visits that support student’s learning within lessons

Quality of teaching, learning and assessment

Ensure all teaching is good or better

Implement an intensive programme of teaching and learning pedagogy, with a continued focus on coaching

To ensure all middle leaders accurately assess the quality of teaching and learning across their department

Ensure there are opportunities, at all levels, through CPD for staff professional pathways development

Continue to promote students’ language for learning, numeracy and problem solving skills in all curriculum areas

Ensure homework is regularly set to encourage independent learning and develop students’ study, research and time management skill
