GCSE Results 2019

At Twickenham School we celebrated an excellent set of GCSE results which show significant improvements across all subjects’. The number of students achieving a good pass in both English and Mathematics has increased from the previous year by 16% with student’ overall Attainment 8 improving by 5.4 points, significantly increasing on the 2018 results. Congratulations go to all students and in particular to Zoe Flashman who achieved five 9s and three 8s and Megan Hall who achieved two 9s & five 8s in all subjects including Maths and English. On average, Alfie Jones gained 3.8 grades and Sam Spiers 2.6 grades higher than expected in all subjects. Excellent results were obtained in English, Maths, Business, PE, Geography, Dance, Computer Science, German, Drama, Music and French.

These excellent results reflect the hard work of students and the professional commitment of all of our teaching and support staff at Twickenham School. As a school, we have met and exceeded some challenging targets for this cohort of students, and I am very pleased that so many of our class of 2018-19 will now progress to further education with real confidence and a tremendous sense of achievement. We are delighted that our intake for Year 7 has increased by more than 50% and we hope that these students will be inspired to achieve their best by this excellent set of results.

I am sure that staff would want to thank our families too, as they have been so supportive yet again throughout the long examination season. The governors and I would like to send the warmest of congratulations to all our Year 11 students.

Ms Ruse

Headteacher
