Youth Climate change with Sir David Attenborough

Students visited York House in Twickenham, to attend the Youth Climate Change Summit, which featured a question and answer session with the legendary naturalist and documentary film-maker, Sir David Attenborough.

Students also took part in workshops during which they shared ideas on how to combat climate change, as well as how schools could reduce their carbon footprint.

Students came away from the event bursting with ideas about how we might be able contribute to efforts to solve the problem of climate change.

Charlie Mckenzie (Year 8) said: ‘‘It was amazing to see and listen to somebody as influential as Sir David Attenborough. I learned about some of the ways that we as children can help to save the planet.’’

Nikola Szabla (Year 7) said: ‘‘It was so exciting to see and hear such a famous person talking to us about the environment.’’

The group that represented Twickenham School at the event will present their findings to the Student Council, so that students can begin to organise environmentally friendly activities that benefit the school community and the wider world too.
