Clerk to Hampton High and Twickenham School Local Governing Bodies
Hampton High and Twickenham School are 2 thriving secondary schools located within 5 miles of each other in the London Borough of Richmond-upon-Thames. The schools are academies and work closely together.
A vacancy has arisen for an excellent administrator with good organisational skills, who can think strategically and make good decisions whilst paying close attention to detail, to join the school teams as clerk to their local governing bodies. The 2 separate governing bodies each meet twice termly in the evening. The clerk arranges the meetings; collates and distributes papers; advises the governors on governance, constitutional and procedural matters; provides effective administrative support both during and after the meetings and manages governance information in accordance with legal requirements.
In addition to the 12 regular evening meetings, the clerk needs to be flexible to attend and support occasional ad-hoc meetings which may be arranged during the school day or evening. Hours are as required and expected to be between 300 and 350 per year. Aside from scheduled meetings, the clerk’s work pattern is for the individual to determine, and most of the work is during term time.
