Twickenham School Celebrates Exceptionally Strong Ofsted Report
Twickenham School is delighted to share the outcome of its latest Ofsted inspection, which highlights the school’s continued transformation and strong performance across key areas of education, inclusion, leadership and pupil wellbeing. Inspectors noted that pupils “feel happy and safe” and praised the school’s “high expectations” and “distinct sense of belonging.”
Safeguarding: Standards Fully Met
Inspectors confirmed that Twickenham School has created an open and positive culture of safeguarding, where pupils are safe, concerns are acted upon swiftly, and safeguarding responsibilities are carried out effectively.

Inclusion – Rated ‘Strong Standard’
Inclusion sits at the heart of Twickenham School’s ethos. Inspectors applauded the wellâestablished inclusive practices and the thoughtful, knowledgeable approach of staff in supporting pupils with a wide range of needs.
Pupils with SEND benefit from purposeful support and access to the full breadth and depth of the curriculum, thriving both academically and personally.
The report highlights that disadvantaged pupils “benefit enormously” from the school’s targeted investment and enrichment opportunities, helping them grow in confidence and independence.
Leadership & Governance – Rated ‘Strong Standard’
Leaders, trustees and governors were praised for their ambitious vision, rigorous evaluation and thoughtful decisionâmaking focused on putting pupils first. Staff morale is high, with workload carefully managed and a substantial training programme helping to build expertise at all levels.
Inspectors noted that Twickenham School is “consistently pushing for excellence” and sharing strong practice beyond the school through work with other organisations.
Achievement – Improving and Consistently Strong

- Good understanding shown in pupils’ work and classroom learning.

Pupils enjoy their lessons, engage enthusiastically, and benefit from structured support in communication, reading and maths where needed.
Behaviour, Attendance & Attitudes – Calm, Respectful, Purposeful
Attendance is a top priority with strong systems in place to identify and support vulnerable pupils. Overall attendance is good and improving.
The school culture was described as “conducive to learning” with calm behaviour, mutual respect and a strong sense of belonging. Pupils feel behaviour is dealt with fairly and that the school has significantly improved in recent years.
Personal Development – Broad, Enriching and ValuesâDriven
Twickenham’s personal development programme provides pupils with:

Pupils told inspectors they feel happy, safe and supported, with older pupils noting the many positive changes in recent years.
They value the school’s ethos of Aspire, Achieve, Enjoy, which is “woven into every aspect of school life.”
Relationships between staff and pupils are described as very positive, and students appreciate the wide range of clubs—from chess and choir to sports and cooking—along with increasing opportunities for leadership roles.
