Twickenham School: Better Each Year

We are delighted to share an update on the continued exceptional achievement of our students. For three consecutive years, our Progress 8 score has improved: +0.16 in 2022/23, +0.20 in 2023/24, and +0.26 in 2024/25. In simple terms, this means that students at Twickenham consistently achieve better GCSE results than students with the same starting points do at other schools — and that advantage is growing year on year. This is a testament to the hard work of our students and staff, and the partnership we are proud to share with parents.

Progress 8 measures how much students achieve at GCSE compared to others with similar starting points nationally. A score above zero means our students are doing better than expected. There is no nationally published figure for 2024/25, so ours has been calculated using Fischer Family Trust, a leading national benchmarking organisation used by thousands of schools across England.

These results are proof that our focus on what really matters — strong teaching, high expectations, and making sure every student is known and supported — is working. We look forward to sharing further updates as we continue to build on this progress together.
